Lark J. Morin, MAOM - Is a self-proclaimed champion of health professions training for Hawaii's youth. He is the Systemwide Health Education Specialist for the University of Hawaii (UH) System, Office of the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, and Faculty Lecturer at UH Hilo, Division of Humanities, teaching courses in the FIL Studies Program, and Faculty Advisor for UH Hilo HOSA. 

 

He previously worked for the Hawaii/Pacific Basin Area Health Education Center (AHEC) at the UH Manoa, John A. Burns School of Medicine, as the Maui County HCOP (Health Careers Opportunity Program) Associate and later transitioned to Statewide Director of AHEC's pre-health student programs (Pre-Health Career Corps, CANOE Pre-Health Academy, AHEC Internship Affairs) and is the founding advisor of Hawaii HOSA's only statewide health industry-based HOSA Chapter through AHEC. Lark established Hawaii/Pacific AHEC HOSA in 2019 at UH Maui College, hosting Maui students with no HOSA chapters at their schools, and later opening the chapter to students statewide.

Lark is Founder and Board Chairman of his own 501(c)(3), HOSA FHP Alumni & Professional Association Hawaii (HAPAH), which supports Hawaii students interested in health careers through collaboration, education, and experience.

 

Lark is an active member of his community serving on several organizations and committees such as the King Kamehameha III Elementary School PTO (Lahaina, HI), Friends of LHS Music (Lahaina, HI), Maui County Sister Cities (Maui, HI), UH Maui College Nursing Program Advisory Board, (Maui, HI), UH Maui College Lahaina Education Center (Maui, HI), Friends of KHS Music (Kea'au, HI), Kea'au Middle School Community Council (Kea'au, HI), Big Island Substance Abuse Council (Hilo, HI), and Maui Economic Development Board's Maui County Healthcare Partnership (Maui, HI).

Lark is a proud graduate of Lahainaluna High School on Lahaina, Maui. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a Filipino Studies Certificate from UH Hilo, Master of Arts in Organizational Management (MAOM) with a Specialization in Organizational Leadership from the Forbes School of Business and Technology, University of Arizona GC, and a professional certificate from Stanford University and UH Maui College. Lark is also a Certified Family Medicine Champion with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and Development with Grand Canyon University.
